Round 10 - Renulek's Spring 2016 Doily

Well it hasn't un-curled itself yet but I haven't done any blocking to it at all yet. Anyone else having the same issue?  I still like how it's coming along. 

 

 

Heart Doily - Rounds 4 & 5

Found a mistake in round 3 while doing round 5! Yikes! Managed to cut out the offending area and fix it and am satisfied with the results. Better than cutting 2 1/2 rounds all the way back. 

 

 

Started round 6 - joined hearts that are attached to the doily with chains on the final round. There are 20 hearts total. 

I'm practicing front side/back side tatting on this round. I usually tat using the "traditional" method but it does look nicer having a true front side/back side. I guess it's the knitter coming out in me. 

 

 

I'm trying to get in shape for Phase I of Tatters Across Time's Tatting Proficiency Program. I have my packet already but haven't started yet. I'm excited about it! Looking forward to sharpening up my skills.

Three Mary Konior motifs, made with Lizbeth size 20. Motifs 1, 2, and 3 for the 25 Motif Challenge. 

 

  

Heart Doily - Round 3

Enjoyed this round, although I got on autopilot again and had to retat the chain 8's a few times because I started to make them 8-p-8 like the other chains in the round. Whoops! 

Love the negative space with this variegated thread!

 

Heart Doily - Round 2

Zoomed through round 2. Nice break after the first round. 

 

Ordered more thread for this so I don't run out. I probably got too much so I guess I'll have to find something else to make with what's remaining. You can never have too much thread!

Heart Doily - Round 1

Finished round 1 of the Heart Doily using my new hand dyed thread in color Summer Trail from Yarnplayer on Etsy. Had to cut/fix a few times because I wasn't paying close enough attention to where I was in the pattern. Round 2 is easy though. 

 

New hand died threads

Ordered some beautiful hand dyed size 20 thread from Yarn Player Colors from top to bottom are Lilac Sea, Fig, and Summer Trail.

Started the Heart Doily from Land of Laces with some of the Summer Trail thread.
